Dr. Kim's Story
The life of a College Professor....Everyday is something different. As a CP, I have the unlimited daily challenges of making sure your children - child becomes successful; inside and outside the classroom. I have always had a passion for helping others and this is my daily mission. The college students of today need a role model regardless of the school they attend. I am that role model. Being a women and having a Doctorate is becoming less and less evident for the kids growing up today. Does your childs College Professor make a difference in the life of your son or daughter? If not, they are not doing their job!
Parents are paying at times in excess of 100K for an undergraduate education and I take my responsibilities very seriously. I make sure "my" students can compete with the Harvard and Duke students when they graduate. Sure, Barton College is a private liberal arts school in Wilson, North Carolina....Expand for more
But, these kids have me to come to. Their limits are tested and retested and I continuously reset the bar for their successes. I always have them on the cutting edge of learning and applying something new; both personally and professionally.
Many times parents pay the money, the kids graduate and then what? Today graduating with an undergraduate degree is equivalent to a HS degree. Millions of kids are doing it. I encourage all my students to stay in school and go to the big name graduate schools. Then after you graduate with your Masters and or Doctorate, drive your name brand car and most probably have the job of your dreams at 25 - 28 years old. But, stay in school.
I am very blessed and every semester I receive note after note, from kids, parents and now grandparents, just saying;hey, thanks for taking the time with my kid, grandkid or themselves personally!
